The first "bouillon" appeared in the mid-19th century in Paris as a place where working-class locals could recharge with a comforting and low-cost meal. They are an institution in Paris and cannot be found elsewhere. Until now! Small but mighty, Le Petit Bouillon stands as a small-scale and modern version of that in Prague.
Our menu changes all the time but is and will always be about French retro classics such as Cassoulet, Boeuf Bourguignon, Pot au Feu, Ratatouille and even snails or calf's head if you really insist. Our dishes are fresh, humble, hearty and, most importantly, cheap as chips in the pure tradition of Parisian bouillons.
Le Petit Bouillon was created by French entrepreneur Alexis Manach who also happens to be the founder of a couple of renowned companies such as Bezrealitky.cz and Zarpo.com but who now prefers to spend his time melting duck fat in a saucepan because as a great French chef used to say, happiness is in the kitchen.
We like to offer a limited set of delicious and extra fresh options that we change often, so stay tuned!
Iconic, unrivaled, Boeuf Bourguignon is THE favorite dish in France. It is a beef stew braised in Burgundy red wine, flavored with carrots, garlic, and garnished with pearl onions, mushrooms and bacon. Despite the huge national debate on what side fits Bourguignon best, we really like it with grenaille potatoes from France.
A rich, slow-cooked casserole containing pork sausages, goose, duck, pork skin and white beans. Originating in the French southern region of Languedoc, it is named after its traditional cooking vessel, the cassole, a deep, round, earthenware pot with slanting sides. It is Alexis's absolute favorite dish since he can remember.
A vegetarian option that doesn't need any introduction, Ratatouille is a French Provençal stewed vegetable dish originating in Nice. Common ingredients include tomato, garlic, onion, zucchini, eggplant, bell pepper, some combination of leafy green herbs including thyme and a great load of time.
French wine, French bubbly and Pastis de Marseille is how we offer you to rehydrate
We proudly think French wines are the best in the observable universe and we also think we have th best Sommelier, so we really HAD to come up with a great selection of French bottles to pair with our dishes. We like to propose you a limited set of options and change them often, so you can discover new things.
In order to make it to our bucket, you have to either be a sparkling wine produced in the Champagne region under the strict rules of the appellation, or a French Crémant. No Prosecco here, just the finest Champagne from Reims and Épernay or Crémant which follows the same ancestral production process.
Created in 1951 by Pernod in the colorful city of Marseille, the aniseed liquor is mixed with mineral water to become the most popular drink on the French Riviera during summer. And can you keep a secret? One of our two founders has the 51 logo tattooed somewhere on his body. Guess who, guess where and you'll get a free Pastis.
